Proton S70 launched in Malaysia!

     Official launch of the 2024 Proton S70 has occurred sooner than the anticipated December date. The new sedan had a relatively short gestation period, in contrast to earlier Greely-Proton models. On November 1, the first official information and photos were released, and soon after, the media preview took place. We covered everything you needed to know about the S70 during that session, so let's move on to the description.

Proton S70 Engine Specifications

    Powering every Proton S70 is a 1.5L turbocharged engine, that delivers 150PS of power and 226Nm of torque. The advanced engine that is also used in the successful Proton X50 is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission for enhanced efficiency, responsiveness and overall driving performance.

Characteristics of the Proton S70 

    The new Proton sedan has dimensions of 4,602 mm in length, 1,809 mm in width, 1,466 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2,627 mm. It is built on Greely's B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA) platform.

    Although the car's appearance is nearly identical to that of the Emgrand, it differs from the donor model thanks to a few Proton-specific features. Proton's new circular tiger badge is centered in a striking, well-groomed grille with pins and blackened side borders on the front. It also has a powerful shoulder line and projector headlights with triple LED daytime running lights. The signature script and full-width tail lights with N-shaped graphics are located towards the back. The Flagship trims have 17-inch alloy wheels, while the Executive and Premium trims have 16-inch ones.

    Thanks to the sophisticated equipment package, the Proton S70 offers smooth connectivity and opulent comfort. It consists of:

Proton S70 Safety

    As part of its safety assessment programmed, ASEAN NCAP has also released the Proton S70 sedan's test results, which include a full five-star rating and a weighted overall score of 82.95 points. These findings coincide with the much anticipated model launch.

    The new Proton S70 comes equipped with six airbags as standard equipment, along with Lane Change Assist, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Door Opening Warning. Reverse cameras and front parking sensors are added in the Premium version. Advanced driver-assistance features like autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, intelligent cruise control, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, lane centering control, traffic sign information, and intelligent high beam control are also included with the Flagship and Flagship X models.
